The film tells the story of ordinary people – journalist Katya, former chansonnier Valera Kopot, young con artist Chira, successful businessman Anton Gorokh, specialist Sergey Matyukhin, convict Koma, and extreme athlete Sasha Ezh – who find themselves on the front lines. Each of them goes to the front with their own "Truth". Katya is looking for the truth about the war, Valera is sacrificing his career to protect the young, Chira wants to live for a reason, Gorokh is looking for meaning after his wife's betrayal, Matyukhin is defending his family, Koma is dreaming of his daughter's forgiveness, and Ezh is going where he is needed. After being surrounded in the village of Novy Svet, the characters are forced to unite. They share everything they have and realize that their "Truths" are merging into one common truth. During moments of calm, they reminisce about their peaceful lives and become a true battle brotherhood. Back home, their loved ones continue to work towards victory, but the news of war remains unsettling. The characters face the question of what they will become after the war.
